2013 Dodge Viper already facing production issues
Still on track dispute supplier issues
The rebirth of the Dodge Viper has hit a few stumbling blocks as SRT CEO Ralph Gilles revealed Chrysler is having problems finding suppliers to build components for the next-generation model.
Speaking with Automotive News, Gilles said "We have had a few hiccups here and there as we get suppliers. That type of fringe business [low production vehicles] has really dwindled. A lot of people are looking for big accounts now, but now that is behind us."
Despite the problems, the executive said development continues and the model is still on track to be launched in late 2012.

Brutes, mindless horsepower, padleshifters ! I saw the new Dodge Viper and it has ABS,traction control, stability control, paddle shifters, lots of airbags and really good traction . It handles and accelerates with hardly any slip or loss of traction in rain, snow,or on icy roads . Shaktiman what car are you talking about because your deffinently not talking about the new 2013 Dodge Viper.

where have you seen the upcoming model? Old one had ABS (in EU) simply because you cannot sell a car without it here. Same goes for TC, since this or next year (can't remember). Still, I vote for dream cars to be brutal and allowing all the electronic angels turned off.

So basically this is a low tech pile of crap, way past its prime, trying to bring it to the big boys. It will be made of plastic, get about 2 miles to the gallon and handle like a go kart with no rear wheels. If it was a good car people would have bought it the first time round. There are more fans for this car who haven't bought or driven one than there were/are buyers. But hey, it's 'Merikun so let's get behind it, woohoo. Not.

that is how you build up prestige of the whole brand. Example from a bit different league. Take Veyron - how many drove it, and how many adore it? Building one costs 5 times the asking price, so what is the point for making them? Prestige.

Can't manufactures do stuff the old way? build it yourself...
I know it's about cost and stuff but uh, cut cost somewhere else, like TC, SC and paddle shifter

I was at the dealers nearing and the new Dodge Viper is very refined and not very brutal . The new Viper concept looked like an Americanized Alfa .

The Viper is an amazing car and it takes guts to produce a car like this at this tough economic time. I don't care what people say about it in theri gripes and complaints it is still a cohesive and spectacular package. I bet these same people would criticize the lack of amenities in a 427 Cobra as well.
