Audi Q3 S coming in 2012 - report

2012 Audi Q3 - 12.4.2011

Could offer 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp)

With BMW considering an X1 M, it's no surprise Audi is reportedly cooking up a Q3 S.

Auto Motor und Sport says the crossover will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine with 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp). Additionally, we can expect revised styling, a sport-tuned suspension and beefier brakes.

The Q3 S could be unveiled in the fall of 2012, so stay tuned for more information.

Starting to feel the Germans just want to make a lot of cars and not neccessarily cars that have any significance.

It's pure madness. Where is the utility in this crossover? It's even smaller than the X1. Audi's motto seems to be, if MB or BMW have one, we must make one too at any cost.

i wouldn`t bet on that. i read a review yesterday in the new Autobild and the overall verdict was great, esp. the rear bench. it surprisingly offered much space for the passengers.

I love how German manufacturers want to fill every gap in the market. I wouldn't be suprised if they made a convertible version of this.

well it`s just a Q3-Sports. every model line of the leading premium carmakers has to have its peformance model. i am not a SUV person, but i guess it will sell like hot cakes.

this car is so significant I've even forgotten they are making it. I thought it is still an idea.. although I prefer Audis, this one is redundant

It's uglier that the ugly X1. But even with this performance version it will never beat X1 in term of sales. Audi can't and will never be able to overcome BMW.

That?s the good thing about being a part of VW , you have so many chassis, engines, designers. It?s so easy to have a "new" model; maybe they should let you design your own car.
