Pontiac Sunfire takes nosedive off Pikes Peak [video]

This is why Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is such a harrowing event; there is the constant risk of losing control and driving off the side of a mountain.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to Bobby Regester with his Pontiac Sunfire. Ironically, thanks to a big boulder, Regester stopped from pitching down the mountain further and over the edge of another crest.

He walked away from the incident (see video below).

The way crash happen like in the Italian Job '69 but he is very lucky to survive in that crash.

Thank goodness he and his car spun down the hill. If it went rolling sideways down I'm not sure if that boulder would stop it and he probably would not have walked away. That must scary for him right at the moment he went off track.
