Audis and BMWs take a beating at N?rburgring 24 hour race [videos]
German opponents sustain some spectacular crashes
In the final hour of the Nürburgring 24 hours endurance race, Porsche's Team Manthey took the race win away from its other German opponents Audi and BMW. Despite honorable performances overall, some competitors weren't so lucky.
In the videos above and below we see the #206 BMW 318 IS performing a rad rail slide at Pflanzgarten. Fortunately the driver was not injured and even helped wave the yellow flag immediately afterwards.
Elsewhere, the #77 BMW Z4 GT3 was sent hard into the barriers by a Seat Leon approaching Schwalbenschwaz.
Lastly, the #29 Experience Audi R8 LMS of Chris Vogler loses control coming down the hill at Tiergarten and then proceeds to do its best impression of a roller skate.

the manthey team deserved it!
but all top 4 cars broke the 2010 lap record of 154 laps. it was a very close race. one little mistake and it could have been a totally different outcome.
