Scion talks about the FR-S concept [videos]
Launches sometime next year
Scion has released two new videos that promote the upcoming FR-S (aka Toyota FT-86 / Subaru sports car).
In the first clip, racing driver Ken Gushi takes a behind the scenes look at how the concept was created by Five Axis. In the second video, Scion's Vice President Jack Hollis says the model is "Freakin' really sweet" and will be coming soon.
As we have previously reported, the FR-S will feature a 2.0-liter boxer engine that can be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. It will be launched sometime next year, so stay tuned for details.

I'm %100 sure the production car will look nothing like the concept, but this concept looks gorgeous and one of the best looking cars i have ever seen

Thinking the same thing. The final production will be so toned down it will become dull. Let's just see if those wheels make it to the final production.

I don't think Toyota will miss this golden opportunity of a lifetime; this is a Holy Grail for the company! Concept form MUST BE RETAINED FOR PRODUCTION. Anything less is a failure! Sick lights, rims and gaping air vent upfront. Definitely exotic. Thanks Ken.

The only market I care about, and whose opinion really matters...is the Japanese Domestic Market. I don't give a rats ass about what this guy says on behalf of Scion.
This cars future will live or die on the streets of Tokyo.

I think this is really great looking car. As a Subaru fan I would still prefer Subaru over Scion but I have to admit it, Scion did good job. It looks badass.

This, this looks brilliant and promising, but I, I will not get my hopes high

The car looks good. I can't understand why Toyota doesn't market this as the new Supra, slap a 70K price tag on it, and fight the GT-R head up. They are sooo overdue for a decent coupe. Guess that's why i'm not a Toyota exec...LoL

The car is nice yes. However, what is the price vs. performance that the customer is getting. I think that is important! 200hp for 23K, okay, well you can get a mazdaspeed3, subaru wrx, camaro, mustang with more power for about the same with more power.
