A very royal Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet revealed [video]

Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet has created this unique car for the royal wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco

This special Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet will be serving as the official car at the royal wedding in Monaco taking place on July 2, 2011.

The specially-designed vehicle will be one of seven Lexus LS 600h in the wedding party at the nuptials of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Ms. Charlene Wittstock.

The Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet is the work of Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet, in partnership with Lexus engineers, and took over 2,000 hours to complete. Its distinguishing feature is the one-piece transparent roof.

That roof is amazing. And don't say it is not, because it is not sitting on top of a BMW/Merc/Rolls, you euro-trash loving gimps.

Ok take it easy! Yes, the roof does look spectacular just don't park below a tree. Imagine this with an electro-monochromatic option.

Last time I saw something by Carat Duchatelet was on an old Merc E coupe. It looked pretty gaudy.

After watching the Video. It's not really about the fact that you Do or Don't like the clear roof. I'm sure the Royals Of Monaco will. I was more impressed in the way it was made. Pure class.

Indeed, I can see plenty of painstaking work being done to the custom-made quarter greenhouse. I am sure Lexus would be proud of this achievement.

Regardless of makers, all Landaulets look horrible, in my opinion. Structural integrity is likely greatly compromised. Better not have a roll over or else it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

Ignorant remarks are the bane of auto enthusiast blogsites. Fact. Lexus must be proud that in just over two decades, they have made a royal impression! Thanks to Toyota, the worst-hit car company (tsunami) that is still the global sales leader. Do the 'Royal Wave' Prince Albert!

i can't believe the way people are insulting each other around here for no reason. monaco is full of mercedes, r-royce, bentley, bugatti, ferrari, you name it. choosing a lexus has to have its own reason. if you represent monaco and you need a luxury limo, it can't be french, cause there are'n any good-enough french high-end saloons, except maybe for the c6 and that's more like a daily official car for ministers... so if you want an european one, you must choose from german or british manufacturers, or some independent manufacturers that make a car or two every three years. ...so choosing a non-european car won't offend any of those guys who build (luxury) cars and spend their money playing in monaco. this could be a reason. the other one, maybe it's just simple: prince albert likes lexus.

Charlemagne, maybe he wanted a hybrid...? somehow a Landaulet Prius would probably not fit in with Monaco high society? Also, the Lexus is probably the better car to be driven in, but not the better car to drive as a keen driver. Somehow I doubt Albert would be driving this car.

Carat also do military and commercial armoured vehicles... You think this Landaulet is armoured? Probably not required in Monaco, huhhh?

I prefer at least a bentley Azure or Rolls-Royce to a kind of Royal Wedding, but not a Lexus , it doesn't make sense !!
