2012 BMW 7-Series facelift rendered
Rendering shows changes to the front fascia and new turn signals on the side mirrors
Here is a rendering by WCF reader David Kiss of the 2012 BMW 7-Series facelift.
Kiss updated the kidney grills on the 7er, its new edges in keeping with the direction BMW has been taking the front fascia on new models such as the recently released 2012 1-Series.
There's also a redesigned front bumper with integrated LED daytimers layed out new too, slight changes to the headlights and turn signals are added to the side mirrors.
A subtle job but just about what we would expect from BMW for the upcoming 7er.
Thanks David!

All BMW needs to do, is give the 7 Series LED Corona/Angel Rings (like the 5 Series, X5, X3, 6 Series...). I think Corona Rings and LED Driving lights slapped on the front is too much and looks cheap. I think BMW might be losing their edge. I have been liking Mercedes design more and more. And since Audi started all the LED nonsense...I find Audis to look pretty cool (Porsche too!).

When it came out I thought it was an ugly BMW. But bow I think it's a very ugly BMW that looks like Lexus LS from the back. I'm glad that in USA consumers share my opinion, based on 7-series sticking on dealers parking lots for over a 100 days.

You people are so dumb...
This is a poor RENDERING (key-word: RENDERING) it's not the true thing, e.g: the orange stripe in the mirrors is the orange tape used to disguise the mirrors, so, it is an error of the author of the RENDERING. Another one, the fog lights are the 6 series daylights, the author just cut it from the 6 and glued on to the 7. I think the only right thing in this rendering is the headlights, giving place to the angel-eyes or corona however you want to call it..
Open mind people.

The kidney grille is getting larger. Your roadsters and coupes aside, BMW please make your saloons beautiful again.

The LEDs on the bumper of the new 6 Series are foglights, not daytime running lights. It's pretty pointless to have LED DLR rings in addition to another set on the bumper. Just because Mercedes thinks it's necessary to have 10 billion LED strips all over the front doesn't mean BMW should follow suit.

What do you mean? It has always been BMWs tradition and their philosophy to copy everything Mercedes Benz does and developes.

@Ratt, wjarep: Your reaction just demonstrates how right I am. You have to oppose me because you cannot handle the truth. And evidently truth hurts. First car to be fitted with ABS, Airbag, SatNAV, first production diesel car, AIRmatic, ABC, ESP, BAS, DISTRONIC, PRE-SAFE, three point belts, SBC, not to mention the first automobile and I could go on. How many of these features BMW uses? And then Ratt says you all know how much I know. Without Mercedes Benz, BMW would have never existed. And by the way. I?m realist and I?m not writing comments here to annoy you, just to remind you of the reality.

Mercedes was not the first in any of those technologies!
Nor was BMW, however to say BMW follows Merc is ridiculous! I think you may need to check some recent sales figures to see who is following who:)

As it happens, 3Iceman IS CORRECT in many of his examples..... Daimler and Benz Were the 1st car's, ABS was introduced on a Merc, as was ABC, ESP, BAS, and DISTRONIC, not to mention many other driver aids.

What's the difference again? They all look the same to me...
When is the New 7 er coming out? And I'm not talking about the facelift. Even though I'm a BMW Fanboy...the 7 er never really caught my attention...
It was always a Rich Guy's status symbol as compared to a W221 S Class which is kind of fun to drive (very nimble and responsive) despite being so damn huge and a Rich Guy's status symbol.
I just wish BMW brings back the 8 Series...and I'm talking about a real 2 Door Coupe kind of Sports Coupe or Supercar with a V12 twin turbo Engine or a Microturbine Serial Hybrid drivetrain.

According to the german AMS magazine the 7-series facelift will get other headlights (LED!) than shown with this rendering. There will also be an iDrive update with touchpad and Nvidia graphics processor and a full TFT instrument cluster.

Yawn. Facelift or no facelift the current 7 is a snore. It just doesn't have the aura of a progressive car. S-class & A8 are equally technology laden and have 21st century styling. I think each epitomizes the respective brand. The 7 is lost, which is a reflection of BMW at this time. Their focus appears to be concentrated on the development of compact and affordable product i.e. volume. Whether that is right or wrong for them is not for me to decide but it shows in the 7. Pity.
