What do they mean by younger? 73 years old versus the 83 year olds who typically by this has-been of a death trap luxury car?

No no no. You have it all wrong. They're trying to attract the people in their 50s to get out of their ES and into a LS

YAWN. There's going to be a new Casket Edition. You basically drive the thing straight down a ramp and into your plot at the grave yard. The Cremation Edition was canned because it emitted too much Carbon Monoxide.

They will also be doing a special commemarative Kevorkian edition too because buying a Lexus is similar to assisted suicide.

OMG, the wood thing is hideous!!!! So they assume the 'younger' generations like wood? WTF.............go do your market research.....'we' like carbon fiber with alcantara........or matte silver will do the trick.......not matte brown wood!!!!

Urgh, I'm not that old but carbon fibre or matte silver plastics are vile and resentful.

Lexus desperately need to update the design of the LS. It looked fresh 5 years ago when it first came out, but it really hasn't aged well. They should push the boat out and go for something adventurous in the same way that Hyundai has in recent years.

For the younger generation? They probably want a Panamera or something four-door coupe. The LS is a fabulous car apart from the wooden numb steering. The only way to make the car exciting is to sizzle it; put that V10 from the LFA and let their engineers play with the car.

I'm young but like wood in my car interior, but I really doubt that Lexus knows which wood will suit younger demographic, look at MB, BMW, Audi, Jaguar and even Volvo all of them offer wood interior that feels contemporary. Even Phantom and Bentley wood are not so orange as this one, only Vel Satis got one before but that's almost a decade ago.

The current LS is living on borrowed time. The next generation model sould be ready for the 2013 model year and I hope it will be better styled and more connected to the original first generation LS. Lexus remains my favorite luxury brand thanks to solid reliablity and customer service, but the maintenance cost of the LS in particular has gone up significantly, particularly with the current generation.

It's sad that you like overpriced Toyotas as your favourite luxury car, obviously you have no knowledge of luxury automobiles which should ONLY be European.

Sometimes, it's fine to go for Lexus if you get yourself chauffeur, back seat is nice. But the ride isn't that good once the road is only few straight line and even worse if climb mountain due to its basic soft suspension. I may prefer little hard suspension when I get driven by my father's chauffeur, if not headache after long journey and aspirin are not rare to find in car. The best from Lexus is their consistency to deliver almost perfect customer service and also their cocktail and crepe are nice touch unlike hot tea/coffee for BMW and little biscuit for Jaguar.
