2012 Opel Astra OPC spied showing more

Our spy photographers have caught up with the upcoming Opel Astra OPC doing some testing on the Nürburgring.

This Astra OPC prototype is showing more details than previous ones whereby we can now see its larger lower grill and air intakes.

The dimensions of the Astra OPC will be the same as on the recently revealed Astra GTC with the wheelbase stretched by 10 mm to 2,695 mm over the standard Astra. The front and rear tracks are widened too by 40 mm at the front and 30 mm for the rear axle. The front axle of the OPC also gets a unique HiPerStrut suspension.

Under the hood, we expect the OPC performance edition to come with 2.0 liter turbo dialed up to around the 290 PS (213 kW / 286 bhp) mark.

The Opel Astra OPC is expected to debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
