The Lexus LFA on the Nürburgring

A lap at racing speed with the onboard camera

Cologne. It is the unfulfilled dream of every spectator at the edge of the track, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife for a round next to the pilot to sit in the cockpit and experience the 20.8-kilometer-long roller coaster at racing speed. The "Gazoo Racing team showed last Saturday, great understanding of the desires of the fans. Even the Japanese Mission team was of course unable to offer effective taxis in the Lexus LFA. But the team took the chance, one of the two racing car with an onboard camera equip. There were not 'heaps' of opportunities to pass at all. This isn't a computer game, where you can just lunge up the inside and hope they get out of your way. He had a little lookie at Aremburg but ended on the wrong line into the corner and lost 10-20 yards on the exit alone. It took until Adenaur for him to recoup the distance. Maybe you should try racing sometime...

That's because they're in different classes. Unfortunately WorldCarFans did not published the final result of this VLN5 race. 1 - Audi R8 ALMS (SP9 Class) 2 - GT3 R Hybrid (Cup Class) 3 - GT3 Cup (Cup Class) 4 - GT3 Cup (Cup Class) 5 - Lexus LFA (SP8 Class) 6 - GT3 Cup (Cup 2a Class) 7 - GT3 Cup (Cup 2 Class) 8 - GT3 Cup (Cup 2 Class) 9 - VW Scirocco (SP3T) 10 - GT3 Cup (Cup 2 Class) Note that those Porsches (GT3 Cup, GT3 R hybrid) and Audi R8 ALMS where in highly-modified SP9 and Cup classes. LFA participates in near-stock SP8 with the engine detuned to 480hp... That's why "Those Porsches seemed much faster".

V10 against flat 6, and probably even detuned to 480hp, they have more power in the LFA than what the GT3's have. And still the LFA could not pass the Porsches!
