2012 BMW M5 undergoing high speed testing [video]
Debuts later this year
BMW has released a new video of the 2012 M5 undergoing high speed testing at the Nardò Ring in Italy.
Essentially a production version of the M5 concept, the car will feature an aggressive body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with approximately 575 PS (423 kW / 567 bhp) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. Additional information is limited, but the M5 will be equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive could eventually be offered.
The car is expected to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but the video hints that it could debut at M Festival in June.

Will it just come out already. Slowly getting sick of all the publicity and by the time it comes we will know everything. Where is the fun in that?

This is going to be interesting. High torque/HP engines were usually an AMG thing but now this is like the BMW M5 AMG :-)) Joking aside, all the cars are pretty much headed to being equally fast. That leaves us with only differences in fuel consumption, exterior and interior style, features, handling and comfort. I wonder which feature will be able to replace the old age choice for most power. That said with 4WD becoming more common they might still push the power levels up to 1000hp.
