Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez says V12 Zagato will likely see a limited production run

Here's a rendering supplied by Aston Martin of the V12 Zagato endurance racer.

The image shows the V12 Zagato in an orange livery and with a large, black rear wing.

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato will make its racing debut at the Nürburgring this weekend (Saturday May 28) in the 4-hr ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup VLN race.

Two editions of the racer will also compete at the 24-hr endurance race at the Nürburgring June 25 to 26.

Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez stated, "The 24-hour race is the ultimate road test and a fitting introduction for the V12 Zagato."

Bez also believes the Aston Martin V12 Zagato warrants a limited production run.

"Based on the reactions of our customers to this race car, we hope to offer a road-homologated V12 Zagato in a small, limited number as soon as possible."

M!
in many ways, this is a dying breed. a large V12 manual front engine rear drive coupe. british racing heritage with italian carrozzerria coachbuilding. 'small limited run' should be greater than 77... so i imagine 100 cars max.

I love this car, but somehow the Zagato in this color with big wing reminds me of a modded 370Z with Aston front end conversion.

That V12 is taking a pounding; it's in every Aston and as they all look the same...the Zagato would be a nice ($ making) alternative. But that rear light has to be fixed!

Since the V12 Zagato was designed for racing, it means that there were plans for a limited production. Of course, it depends on the senior management decisions to justify the business case for such a vehicle.

O ye 510hp from old and heavy v12, wow pure innovation. It's getting pretty ridiculous how underpowered the astons are. I wonder how long they will be milking the engine?
