AMG still hiding the coupe's wide body kit under some heavy camouflage

Here is a set of spy shots of the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe testing on the Nürburgring.

The prototype spotted here is a coupe that is still heavily camouflaged with AMG doing their best to hide the coupe's wide body kit.

As for what beats wildly underneath that bonnet, we're expecting the next C63 Black Series to be updated with the new 5.5 liter biturbo V8 with 571 PS (420 kW / 563 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque coupled to the seven-speed Speedshift gearbox.

The 2012 C63 AMG Black Series Coupe is expected to debut after the introduction of the sedan variant later this year.

I highly doubt the TT motor is going to be inside this Black Series, especially given that the regular C63 coupe has the NA motor still. Also, with E-coupe's adaptation of the TT motor for 2012 MY, there is reason to believe the C and E coupes will be distinguished further by their respective NA/TT engine application throughout their lines, AMG, BS or otherwise. Therefore, the TT application on this specific example is an old speculation.

I absolutely agree, I doubt this will carry much more power than a standard 63 coupe, a bit, yes, but not as much as 900NM. The car would handle like a pig. I would pray Merc learned that with the SL black.

This is a hit under the waist from MB! Put the power where no one expects it!

You are all wrong. Regular C63 will be converted to a smaller turbo mill as well. CAFE is upon Mercedes. The 6.1L N/A dead, except for the SLS. All others will be changed--ML, S, E, SLK, you name it.

Being that they've already revealed the 2012 C63 AMG to carry over the 6.2L, that makes you the one who is wrong. If anything, I'm willing to bet that the C63 Black Series will be the last Benz to feature the NA beast.

This C63 Black Series is a nice car but not as nice as the CLK 63 Black Series. Afterall, there were only 300 of the CLK 63 Black Series ever built world-wide (as noted in Jeremy Clarkson's article in the London Sunday Times; see link at the bottom). Jeremy Clarkson is the tall guy from the car show Top Gear which is aired on the BBC chanel. Needles to say that Jeremy ended up buying a CLK 63 Black Series right after he test drove it for the Top Gear show. The guy has been test driving the most exclusive, fastest, and expensive cars in the world (from Pagani Zondas to Ferarri Enzos). For him to buy the CLK 63 Black Series speaks volume. In quoting him, here is what Jeremy said about the CLK 63 Black Series: "When I first tested the 6.2-litre CLK Black, only 300 of which were built, I was overawed by its massive range of abilities. It was not just the thunderous 507 horsepower or the insane wheelarch extensions, though these two things on their own were probably enough. It was the knife-edge handling, the constant sense that you were driving something that was actually designed to kill you. It was called the Black, I suspected, because that was the colour of its heart." I would definately buy a CLK 63 Black Series before I consider buying this C63 Black Series. The CLK 63 Black Series is by far more exlusive than the C63 Black Series, and by far better built car than any other Black Series Mercedes has ever produced. Been only 300 of the CLK 63 Black Series ever produced world-wide, in years to come, the CLK 63 Black Series will worth a whole a lot more than this C63 Black Series or any other Black Series. ;-) http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article6907705.ece
