Pagani Huayra's roaring sound on the track [video]

Take a ride on the tail of the Pagani Huayra as it rages on the Adria International Raceway in Italy

Our good friend Marchettino has strapped a GoPro HD camera to the rear of a Pagani Huayra to give us a tail-end view of the supercar's square-shaped quad-exhaust pipes - the distinguishing feature of the Huayra's rear fascia - as the car roars around the track.

The experiment is intended to give us the track sound of the Huayra and we get that in spades here as the hypercar does a few laps around the Adria International Raceway.

Here's one case where the expression 'the sound the fury' is very apt.

It sounds... bad. I wasn't expecting the V12 biturbo AMG engine to sound as good as it old, naturally-aspirated brother, because the turbo kills the sound. But I wouldn't have expected that even a stock CL, SL or S 65 with basically the same engine sounds better & more sporty! The sounds when he kicks in the gears... terrible. nothing compares to a Zonda. i wasn't expencting much from this new V12. the V12 in the Mercs sound better because the sound has to travel further until it comes out of the pipes.

Interesting fact. Is there any other car with a mid (!) V12 biturbo engine? I can't think of one.

Audi R8 V12 TDI concept, thats all I can think of with 2 turbos... Bugatti EB110 had four turbos (!) on a V12.

I've never been a V12 engine sound fan, in general... V10 as well... for me the best sound can only come from a V8... for ever... well, at least until these petrol engines will be forbidden and we'll see only electric engines on the streets...

This video is awesome!!!!! The sounds needs to be a bit cleaner but other than that this is an awesome video.. As for the air brake wing it looks like is also doubles as a spoiler.. The reason for this is cause when the car pulls from the corner its completely down and once speed increases it raises a little until the brake is applied then the wings come completely up in the air... Amazing stuff!!!! I cannot wait until top gear get their hands on this car....
