2012 BMW F10 M5 on the test track [video]

Video shows the next-generation F10 M5 doing its final testing at BMW's facility in the south of France

Well, now that BMW's secret test facility in the south of France is no longer such a secret, by BMW's own doing, the automaker has seen fit to produce this video showing the upcoming 2012 F10 M5 doing its final testing on the track in Miramas.

The F10 M5 is pushed to it limits and its suspension components and the M DCT 7-speed gearbox are also put to the challenge as BMW aims to make the next M5 a more exciting and precise instrument to drive while still maintaining more-than-adequate levels of comfort.

With a top speed of more than 300 km/h (190 mph), the next M5 won't be holding anything back. In the video we also get to see the F10 do its straight-line sprint using its Launch Control function in a runway rush that mimics a jumbo jet take-off.

Shame about the soundtrack. Not as dramatic like the AMG's V8. I miss the E60's V10.

Becauseif the person wants something more exciting, just grab tuner body kits. Normal M is for person who wants to get A to B with excitement of how the car drives but without nonsense of attracting people intention when the car stand still. Anyway, I even find myself prefer M5 to get onli little make up as Hamann did to 5series without M-sport package, looks sinister and jokerness

You're pretty lucky to live in an area where F10 M5 prototypes are in daily traffic.

as your username suggests you live in USA area and you have 13years old...I dobut that F10 M5 needs to be massively tested in USA at that level where is almost ready for production! X5 M was something I hear a lot of times on streets at full throttle and as others said...it sounds pheeble...BMW can do better than this!

The 400bhp V8 M5 is still the best in my book. This one is a major letdown; you only begin to hear something interesting inside the cabin. An M5 ought to shout its intentions from a mile away aesthetically and mechanically! Merc's AMG Department and Audi's RS GmbH squad should rest easy then.
