Celebrates the car's 35th anniversary
Volkswagen has released the first pictures of the Golf GTI Edition 35, ahead of its debut on June 1st.
Built to celebrate the model's 35th anniversary, the car features a new front bumper, special interior trim and plenty of "35" badging.
Under the hood, power comes from a revised 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine that develops 235 PS (173 kW / 232 hp) instead of the usual 210 PS (155 kW / 207 hp).
The company will begin accepting pre-orders on May 12th and pricing starts at €30,425 in Germany.

i LOVE the Mk6 GTI and more power is definitely a good thing, but those wheels (as nice as they are) aren't as nice as the 18" Monza IIs, and the interior should have tartan.
i'd still own one in a heartbeat tho.

I just had (a few days ago) a Megane RS test drive - Golf GTI is boring comparing to Renault! I was a big fan of this VW, but now they have change a lot more to be no.1 european hot hatch

The Megane RS is sick to look at and to drive, but VW hardly sit still when it comes to the grand-daddy of them all, the GTI. Practicality counts for a whole lot in modern hot-hatches and that's where the French rival loses out big time to the Ubermeister! The 235bhp is surely a hint towards the 35th Anniversary Edition theme? The GT is my pick for the Best Value Golf in the entire range in terms of performance from such a tiny engine capacity!
