Epsilon II on the table?

According to a recent report, MG is working on a deal to acquire a GM platform.

Details are limited, but the British firm is rumored to have its sights on the Epsilon II platform that underpins the Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it remains unclear if GM is willing to sell a current platform to serve as the basis for the 2014 MG ZT.

This just means MG will try and copy Jaguar in terms of design and 'Britishness'.

On what basis do you make that statement? To be fair, foreigners interpration of "British" has always tended to be the same, like the inside of a gentleman's club, but Jaguar is breaking the mould now and even Rolls-Royce puts an interesting spin on it.
