2012 BMW 1-Series teased?
Set to debut later this year
BMW has apparently released the first teaser image of the redesigned 1-Series.
Draped in red and blue cloth, the mysterious models appear to be the three- and five-door hatchbacks. Furthermore, the car is being promoted under the moniker of "One Origin, Two Originals" which seems to imply two body styles will be available at launch.
Despite the possibility that this is the next-generation model, it is interesting to note the site is exclusively in Italian and the company hasn't mentioned anything about it.

Would have been interesting news if you could actually see some details of the car, now it's pretty much just a car under a blanket.

I'd guess those two are not F20/21 - my guess is both F20 but with two different lines. Sport (red) and Urban (blue) are supposed to be the names of those two. Those lines include color of the stitching on the steering wheel, color inlays in the speedo, colored interieur trim in the respective color.

I thinks it's a bit of a shame that BMW have just put out the 1 Series M with the shape of the current m series and then next year the 1 series is redesigned leaving the M version behind. Perhaps they should have stuck with putting out the new M model in the next Generation.......

I know, a real pity... straight out of the VW/Audi rule book when it comes to offering the best derivatives extremely late in the product life cycle. Its all a marketing ploy to keep the cash flow running.

This decision has made in case of the old N54B0030 Engine and has nothing to do with the car himself. Furthermore the 1er M Coupe has his own style and would not be old after the new release of the 1er family

A teaser on cloth colour and draping technique? Hopefully BMW will man up the design of the 1 series. What am I saying? Front and back designs will look like the 3 series. There are no surprises here.

Oh God...really, a low end FWD BMW. Now who would want that?
BMW, you have just lost your exclusivity.

When the hell are they going to redo the X5. The 1 series came out in america after the x5 was refreshed. My girls company car is a X5 and she has been through 3 already of the current model, and I would like to see a redesign already.

Why hide the cars when 90% chances are it's gonna look exactly the same as their current line-up.
