Lamborghini Aventador TFT instrument cluster display in action [video]

Our old friend/supercar test driver Nick Hall is at it again, this time behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 at Vallelunga circuit. Filmed during a press event Nick explains:

"This is the shot of the Lamborghini Aventador's cool TFT display as we take it on to the circuit at Vallelunga. It's just the speedo, but it gives you an idea how fast the thing acquires outrageous speed. It's a relatively short circuit and we're following the instructors in LP560-4 Superleggeras, so we had to lift off and not crash in to the car in front, so yes we could have gone faster, but not really! I'll have more videos up soon, flypasts, and a full edit as soon as we can get it on!"

Although a very straight-forward video, check out the tachometer and gear number graphics which are pretty cool. Nick manages to reach 235 km/h (146 mph) during the session.

We'll be sure to post Nick's final edit as soon as it's complete.

Cycles like weather/fashion. This has been done before in lesser cars, see http://youtu.be/-Qv-a5HZQgY

@ kimbo, yeah, but it was only a concept car. they still went for an old school instrument cluster and beachwood gear lever in the production car.

yes , because the LFA is so slow , you actually have time to look at its graphics.

It was understandable with the LFA, but seriously, why didnt they just give us a playstation controller instead of the steering wheel in this?

personally, although the car and Lamborghini in general is on my list of favorites cars... I don't like the dash... too many colors, red, yellow, green, blue, all mangled up (this kind of design can be found in children toys)... they've tried too much to make it look "space age"

Awesome exhaust note! Quite a bumpy track Look at the amount of vibrations when he goes up the gears! Poor Aventador barely gets a chance to go beyond 4th at this track! How about doing a similar test @ Monza??? That would be super Awesome!

And Mercedes and Ferrari (612 Scag, 599 secondary gauges) before LF-A by a few years. Nissan GTR doesnt have a TFT instrument cluster.

Lambo did it with the Reventon, which was released before both of them, and the GT-R's TFT screen is in the same location as it has been in a Golf GTI for 7 years
