?725,000 BMW ItalDesign Nazca for sale
BMW ItalDesign Nazca from 1993 for sale 04.05.2011

Only 3 prototypes of the BMW ItalDesign Nazca were ever built - powered by a BMW-sourced, Alpina-tuned 5.7 liter V12

This is a rare vehicle hence the high sale price of €725,000.

It is an ItalDesign Nazca created by the Italian design house Giorgetto Giugiaro back in the 90s. It is powered by a BMW-sourced, Alpina-tuned 5.7 liter V12 with 379 PS (279 kW / 374 bhp) coupled to a five-speed manual. The car is a right-hand-drive, with gullwing doors and a top speed of 326 km/h (203 mph).

The vehicle for sale here is a prototype as the model made it to production. Only 3 prototypes were ever built.

The second prototype is the one being sold - a C2 from 1993.

Sweet, I remember this from Need for Speed 2! It does look dated, but badass nonetheless.

amazing how they push 203mph out of just 379ps, but most modern cars with over 500ps can barely push over 185mph

I don't believe that this car can do 200mph...no way you need at least 400hp to be near 180mph...for another 20mph you need at least 100hp!

WCF, This car made it into production? I think there's a typo there. Anyway, did this become the 8 series or the infamous M1?

@hansolo The Italdesign cars were designed years after the M1, and the 8 series was a BMW In house design. Plus the 8 series is front engined not mid. The Italdesign car was not an official BMW sanctioned project, so it's production would have had to be a private party limited production thing. I think the actual production model ended up with an Audi engine unlike the BMW powered prototype.

 M! M!
the really sad thing is BMW never have any halo car after the M1 or even the Z8.... if they have taken Italdesign's proposal, or come up with their own, it would be more exciting.

Thanks for the update CarLife, Any news on the BMW Gran Coupe... or a BMW Super Car like M1... I think its time BMW came up with an SLS killer, instead of toying around with a FWD 1 series or other crap like that.

A little XJ220-ish in profile, with Mac F1 headlights. Still a great looking car.

I saw this supercar concept three years ago. You may want to check my gallery (via clicking my ID above) for the pics. This specific model was purportedly (and formerly) belonged to the Sultan of Brunei. In the flesh, it was one beautiful car to look at.
