Wrong way on the highway crash [video]

Driver enters highway in Scotland going the wrong way, causes truck crash, luckily, no one was seriously hurt

The accident you see in this video here is harrowing but you'll be happy and amazed to know that no one was seriously hurt.

An Opel Corsa enters a highway in Scotland via an exit ramp and is going the wrong way as a large truck is hurtling towards it - it's view obstructed by another exiting large truck.

The camera is mounted in the cabin of the oncoming truck and we see how quickly the driver's reaction is. He swerves to avoid the Corsa, saving a 20-year old woman's life, but he rolls his truck and crashes.

Cameras mounted everywhere these days. But this footage got to prove the skills of this particular truck driver.

Need to show this to the "speed kills" brigade in the UK. Another example of reckless and negligent driving rather than speed causing a serious accident.

I don't mean to be sexist, but why do woman get lower car premiums then men in the UK? I reckon men might drive more aggressively and speed more etc, but women cause more accidents, or rather, there way of driving causes more damage even if it isnt "technically" there fault ( say they are driving extremely slowly, and one has to overtake). On average id say the amount of "close encounters" I've had is severely higher with women than with men.

Car is a right hand drive... with UK plates... if you look closely just before the collision you can see her in the right hand side of the car... looks like a 2001 car...

Maybe a foreign? In GB they drive on the WRONG side of the road. I'm not trying to defend anyone here - you adapt the rules of driving from the country you are in, or you can kill someone. The end.

that's why our cars are RIGHT hand drive? historically all traffic drove the way we do in Britain she was definitely foreign. the steering wheel was on the other side, and we generally don't have "Opels" in this country, the same cars are called "Vauxhalls".

Mister Stig
We do drive on the correct side of the road.. check your history books for why some countries drive on the wrong side. Oh... if your from the USA, maybe you will need to check google, as you don't have much history of your own.... Anyway, if my memory is correct (this is an old story) the lady driver hadn't long passed her driving test, and is British, in a RHD car. She is of course VERY lucky to be alive..

It's a Vauxhall Corsa, as made clear by the driver being on the right-hand side and the V-shaped grille.

Women shouldn't be allowed on the road... And they say men are the more dangerous drivers!

you took the words right out of my mouth. the vast majority, I'd say 90% + are rubbish/useless drivers who do not use their mirrors, lack full control, no spacial awareness and er.. drive down no entries. Idiot. I hope she got somethign more serious than just loosing her no claims on her insurance.

I simply can't understand how someone who tries to enter the motorway and SEES a lorry facing the opposite direction still tries to keep going and into the lanes. Some people are just plain stupid.
