2012 Subaru Impreza teased for NY debut
Will deliver up to 36 mpg
Subaru has released the first picture of the redesigned Impreza, ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show.
Available in four- and five-door body styles, the new Impreza appears to be a vast improvement over its homely predecessor as it features elegant styling with chrome accents, a kinked rear window and muscular wheel arches. Furthermore, Subaru says the car will have a "roomier interior and improved levels of comfort and refinement."
Power will likely be provided by the new 2.0-liter Boxer engine that develops 148 PS (109kW / 146 hp) and 196 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque. While that hasn't been confirmed, Subaru said the Impreza will be able to achieve 36 mpg which is the best fuel economy rating of any all-wheel drive vehicle in the United States.
