Peugeot Crossover Concept images surface ahead for Shanghai debut
Peugeot Crossover Shanghai Concept leaked design sketches, 500, 05.04.2011

Peugeot in China has come of age. No longer a secondary market with old generation models being sold new, Peugeot has brought their entire model range up to date with the newest platforms. To validate their commitment to the maturing Chinese market, Peugeot will unveil a concept crossover/SUV model at Auto Shanghai show in a few weeks.

While its name is not yet known, these first images recently surfaced in the Chinese media. According to auto.21cn.com the concept was designed by Chinese designers at Citroën's new R&D center in China.  Over the past three years PSA has invested a lot of resources into the training of designers within the realm international design techniques and this crossover concept is the first example.

First press day of 2011 Auto Shanghai show starts on August 19.

The Grille is supposed to be a unique Corporate Face of any car firm on the planet. This one above is totally unrecognisable as a Peugeot grille and that is a problem. Perhaps with hindsight, even if a new grille is in order, the 'bold corporate logo' (the Standing Roaring Lion) should have been positioned inside the grille slats to portray an impresion of corporate confidence. Right now it looks like an Oriental piece; not a flattering idea! However, it is nice to finally see a crossover from a French car firm.
