BMW X1 M under consideration - report
Would reportedly feature 315 hp
With the BMW X1 proving to be a resounding sales success, it's no surprise the company is reportedly considering an X1 M.
While nothing is official, the car would likely feature an aggressive body kit, a sport-tuned suspension, and a high performance braking system.
Power would reportedly be provided by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that develops 315 hp (235 kW / 320 PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. It would be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission which would enable the X1 M to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately five seconds.
No word on when the crossover could be launched, but BMW is currently focused on introducing the redesigned M5 and M6.

M's record in tuning the SUVs in the range isn't great, is it? And the X1 is probably the weakest proposition in the range already. This isn't getting me excited.

Widen the track, flare the arches Baja style and we could have something truly outlandish and a welcome distraction from all the bullsh*t mini SUVs. By the way, the X5 M is brilliant for what it is.

Then BMW please build the 5GT M, it would look awesome after major change on fron+rear bumper (two majors distractive look), 590s hp is also welcome there. Anyway, it is because there is a market for it rather than X1 M, an entry level car would be a disaster if priced as M, think X3 3.5got 306hp (326 if you buy the performance package and this X1 M only has 315 hp (similiar to 640i) and could be priced higher than X3 3.5 with better look. It is really then no brainer for BMW to make it only for 315hp, only if it generates 400hp, then it would be quite reasonable.

the ///M gmbh is really diluting their core values. these X cars with the ///M logo everywhere in and out is not really any ///Motorsport anymore, but more ///Marketing.

Of course they will make an X1 M judging by the great sales of vehicle, if the do I don't care too much although I would like to see some Dakar Yellow with black rims....anyway they should do the M version of the F01 series I think thats what the world of enhusiasts is waiting for.
