Our spies have managed to catch the 2012 Mercedes SLK63 AMG undergoing testing near the Nürburgring.
Like the standard model, the new SLK63 will feature an SLS-inspired grille, front fender vents, and LED-infused headlights. However, the AMG variant will be distinguished by aggressive bumpers, revised side skirts, a four-tailpipe exhaust system and AMG wheels which are backed up by a high performance braking system.
Unfortunately, it remains unclear what engine will power the new convertible. As of right now, there are three possible contenders: a rumored 422 hp (315 kW / 428 PS) 5.5-liter V8, a 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS) 6.2-liter V8, and a detuned 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 that normally produces 537 hp (400 kW / 544 PS) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.
