2012 BMW M5 prototype - 30 minutes of raw footage [video]
As a follow up from last week's M5 preview videos, here is some additional raw footage running almost 30 minutes. In addition to some soothing static shots and commentary from test drivers Bernd Limmer and Frank Lutz, there are some nice driving scenes taken from numerous view points both inside and out.
BMW will reportedly premiere the M5 Concept at a private press event near Munich on April 1st followed by its public debut at Auto Shanghai a few weeks later.
But for now, grab a cup of your favorite warm beverage and enjoy the video.

This is one of the best therapeutic car videos I have seen. Icy wind, fluffy snow and a distinctive BMW V8 growl (especially audible in the tunnel segment) makes for such an experience. It reminds me of the time I (virtually) drove a E39 M5 in snowy ridge, NFS: High Stakes edition, which was seriously one of the best ultimate driving machines.

Well said my friend...
I think this one would be a worthy successor for the BMW E39 M5 (The Best Car of the Year Forever). Even the standard BMW E39 had superb handling and power compared to the standard BMW E46.
As for the F10 M5...It definitely has the looks...it just needs to prove itself on the tracks...

The 400bhp M5 is still the benchmark for me in terms of soundtrack, interior appointment, finish and driveability. The Snow Drifters video is quality and I hope the road version delivers emphatically or else...

THe E60 M5 was "amazing" when it came out...then after a while people started to see faults - the smg gearbox was junk, the i-drive wasn't the best, the engine didn't sound great, the fuel consumption was bad, the car always had to be driven hard to feel you were getting any thrill out of it. Anything less than 90% and it was dull. That's why I would prefer the E63 anyday: comfortable for every journey and when you want to drop the hammer it will go like a rocket as well as having a glorious V8 bark.
