Porsche Panamera Turbo S coming next month - report
Panamera with Sport Design package and 20-inch Panamera Sport wheels painted black

Reportedly features 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp)

According to a recent report, Porsche will unveil the Panamera Turbo S sometime next month.

While nothing is official, the timeline matches up with the New York and Shanghai Auto Show. Furthermore, the original Turbo debuted at Auto Shanghai 2009 so it seems possible that the S could be introduced in China.

Under the hood, power will reportedly be provided by a twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8 engine that develops 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp) and over 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This should enable the hatchback to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 188 mph (303 km/h).

If the reports are correct, the Panamera Turbo S will start arriving at dealerships in late June or early July.

3.8 seconds to sixty is pretty impressive for a full-sized sedan.

It would be even more impressive if it didn?t have such an ugly rear end.

the hump isn't pretty, but the extra headroom is moving more units than a prettier but less practical design.

i've seen the panamera on the roads and in darker colors it looks alright.. but it's competition ala Quattroporte is way better.. but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a runaway success..

Everyone has the right to argue or disagree. But one thing is clear with Porsche and with this Panamera Turbo S and it is that if numbers on the car come close to predictions, then why some ppl put into discussion whether if its ugly or beautiful. Is this a beauty contest or we are talking cars here? The truth is that a car that weights close to 2 tons, being a sedan with a 0 to 60 time in less than 3.8 seconds is pretty, pretty impressive. Let's be more realistic here!!

Spruced up Porsche limo with bite. The one in the picture is a Panamera 4S; AWD with some venom. Lamborghini must build that Estoque fast!

estoque and rapide cost at least double of panamera... not exactly the direct competition... probably the only competitions are CLS and quattroporte ... A5 / A7 are too ugly to be competition at all.

What most people here miss about this car is how smart the owner is he has 1 or two kids a wife. Yes he could own a two seater or a 2 plus 2 and no one wants to sit back there! Panamera driver drives his family in comfort and still play! The other gets to drive the suv or even better minivan! I was blown away how versatile and comfortable all while being a Porsche!
