First photos of the P4/5 Competizione testing at the N?rburgring [videos]

Ferrari P4/5 Competitizione from the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus readying itself for the 24hr race there on June 25th

Here is a set of shots of the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione from the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus team testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife track, readying itself for the 24hr race there on June 25th.

This was the first day of testing on the track for the 2011 VLN series participants and the P4/5 Competizione was strutting its stuff supplied from three Italian tuners who have helped with its construction. Its track runs also featured the celebrity drivers Nicola Larini, Mika Salo, Fabricio Giovanardi and Luca Capellari.

The Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is the brain-child of American collector and enthusiast Jim Glickenhaus and is based on the F430 Scuderia. It comes with the engine and suspension of the Ferrari F430 GT2 ALMS. The first P4/5 began as a one-off model Glickenhaus commissioned Pininfarina to design back in 2006.

The objective for the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is to bring some old 60s playboy glamour to the ADAC 24 hour race at the Nürburgring this year. And Glickenhaus wouldn't mind winning the race either.

Whoa whoa whoa, it was based on the Enzo, not the F430, right? Gorgeous machine, absolutely gorgeous.

I think that the road legal one was based on the Enzo but the Competizione is as stated in the article based on the F430. I really wish it had the Enzo's big V12 in it : (

Its a shame that this isn't Ferrari making a comeback in GT. It would be fantastic to see Ferrari win Le Mans again.

If Ferrari himself is still alive, he must be shedding tears wishing this car is his own as the P4/5 devours the 'Ring chicanes, hairpins and S-bends for fun. Old Skool Ferrari with New School tech. Epic.

This car is absolutely amazing. It's just beautiful how it handles, and it doesn't get passed once. I know that when Jim glickenhaus wins Ferrari is going to wish they backed it. They should race the p4/5 competizione at lemans. It makes me cry in happiness that something that a Ferrari has a chance at an overall win in a big race again. This car is epic. I have waited for a very long time to see a video of this car around the nurburgring and here it is!
