Aston Martin Vantage S on the track [videos]

V8 Vantage S does its thing on a beatiful day at a track in Spain

Here is a video of the recently debuted Aston Martin Vantage S having a little workout on the track at the Ascari Race Resort in Spain.

The long form video below comes from Motor Authority and features a soundtrack artfully supplied by the Vantage S itself.

That sound is coming from the Vantage S's 4.7-liter V8 engine that doles out 430 bhp (321 kW / 436 PS) and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque. The extra 10 bhp (7 kW / 10 PS) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) over the standard Vantage V8 model is what earns it the 'S' moniker. Released in January, the Vantage S also comes with a Sportshift II transmission that allows for quicker gear shifts.

Ultimate performance can be graded by watching the Vantage S move on its own here. It's not just the numbers that impress. As they say in music, feel is as important at technique.

All noise & no action.Drive a Vantage back to back with a Carrera S & u will see just how slow the Vantage is.All Astons sound faster than what they really are. A shame really because it is the best looking car in the world.

The S version is meant to answer that criticism.

The S version is just a badge and 10hp is a very poor answer to a much more expensive question. -undoubtedly gorgeous though + interested to find out how good that new gearbox is-

I have a 07 DB9 with only 450 horsepower out of a 6 liter V12. For the amount of money it should have more horsepower.
