Ferrari Four concept gets web unveiling [video]

Previews the 612 Scaglietti successor

Ferrari has hosted a web unveiling of the new Four concept, ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Essentially a preview of the 612 successor, the Ferrari Four (FF) features an aggressive front fascia, an expressive rear end, and a California-inspired profile. While the shooting brake design won't win everyone over, the concept is extremely practical as it can hold 450 liters (15.9 cubic feet) of luggage with the rear seats up and 800 liters (28.3 cubic feet) with the rear seats down.

As we have previously reported, the FF is motivated by a 6.3-liter V12 engine that develops 660 PS (485 kW / 651 hp) and 683 Nm (504 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed double-clutch transmission which sends power to an advanced Ruote Motrici (4RM) four-wheel drive system that enables the 1790 kg (3946 lb) concept to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed 335 km/h (208 mph). In terms of efficiency, the FF has a combined fuel consumption rating of 15.4 L/100 km (15.3 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 360 g/km.

This car looks good in certain colors when looking at the front 3/4 profile. I still do not like the rear of this car and I think that a lot of people feel the same. It is a radical direction for Ferrari and only time will tell if it pays off. I wuld have rather seen this car as a Maserati rather than a Ferrari The interior view of the rear seats are stunning though. We will see when I see it in the flesh though.

Great looking car! I am a fan of the shooting brake design. However, With 651hp and 4WD, I would have expected a quicker 0-62mph time.

The 612 looked great. This car is a joke! Ferrari fan boys can look at the bright side, this hideous design will draw attention away from the embarrassment of their show pony breaking down & leaving them stranded.

Because of the 4WD perhaps?.... This car is always going to polarise opinion but then it would be very dull if we all liked or disliked it. I did think what on earth are Ferrari thinking but the more i look the more i think actually Ferrari's new bread van could well be a hit.

I love this new Ferrari. I gotta say though, one of the only Ferraris that actually doesnt look good in red. I'd take a black or silver one any day! People hating on it miss the point entirely. This is not someone's first Ferrari. This is meant for people with one or two in the garage already. This is a far more practical everyday, every weather car. Big thumbs up. And lets not forget... 600hp! POW!

While watching this video I thought; 'Hmmm...a twin turbo diesel or hybrid would be good in this...'. Now, this is Ferrari. If this model made me think that, then perhaps they've started down a road they shouldn't have. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Great driving machine in ugly body. There hasn't been a nice Ferrari 4 seater since the 456.

I await for exciting new machines from Ferrari each premiere. The FF is ground breaking, just an absolutely amazing car that is captivating just looking at it and it defends itself. This is a positive shift from the 612 you must admit. Btw, does anyone know the track used at the premiere? It is addictive...
