Italdesign Giugiaro teases Geneva concept - could this be a new VW concept?
Guigiaro concept teaser ahead Geneva 22.02.2011

Italian design house is said to have developed two new concepts for the VW brand which will debut in Geneva next week

Now that it's been acquired by VW Group, Italdesign Giugiaro has upped its power quotient within the auto industry considerably with its designs and concepts far more likely now to meet mass production sometime soon.

But Italdesign Giugiaro is owned by VW Group only through its 90 percent ownership by Lamborghini, so hopefully we can expect some exciting stuff from the Italian design house too.

According to Autoblog.it, Italdesign Giugiaro has contributed designs for two of seven VW brand concept cars which are to debut at the Geneva auto show next week.

This teaser sketch may be for one of those VW concept models or, perhaps a third VW concept or model altogether.

Or maybe the teaser sketch is for another VW Group brand concept vehicle. Who knows.

We will have to wait until Geneva to see what it is. But let's hope that Italdesign Giugiaro's fate of being incorporated into the VW Group won't stifle its creativity but instead revive it.

And maybe that could lend inspiration to other Italian design houses such as Bertone and Pininfarina to gain more of a competitive hold on the industry given that they're not tied to any single automaker group.

Competition is good. We await its results.
