Project Kahn will do the Aston Martin Cygnet
Aston Martin Cygnet by Kahn previewed 22.02.2011

British tuner in the midst of 'brainstorming session's on how to tune the upcoming luxury minicar from Aston Martin

Strange enough as it is that Aston Martin will be producing this Toyota iQ based minicar in the first place. (Bond on a budget?)

Now, news is that Project Kahn is going to have a crack at tuning the tiny city car.

According to Project Kahn, the British tuner is in the midst of developing new conversion kits for the Cygnet and 'brainstorming sessions' are being held with designer A. Kahn taking part himself.

Project Kahn promises more details are to follow.

The Aston Martin Cygnet will be a luxed-out super-compact car with a premium interior and leather finish. Powering the car will be the more mundane 1.33 liter Dual VVT-i engine with 97 hp (72 kW / 98 PS) and 123 Nm (91 lb-ft) of torque sourced from Toyota.

The Cygnet will go on sale in April with prices starting at £30,995 (€36,560 / $49,340).

This really is a good idea. When you only have a limited number of millions and find that the Veyron is just out of reach, you can say - "Hey dude, pimp my IQ".

 M! M!
and by the time you spent the money on a Cygnet and the Kahn tuning, perhaps you can almost spend it on something else more stylist and environmentally friendly.

Really? have a tiny car with a tiny engine, a market that only includes previous aston owners and a price that takes it completely out of the small car market?! This will do two things for Aston Martin; 1, lower the Co2 levels for the rest of the fleet so they can continue to make great GT cars with real engines, and 2, make aston a sh*t load of money when stupid footballers decide to buy them because of their exclusivity, thus in turn also helping aston continue build their great cars we know and love. So totally stupid? Considering no one will ever buy one, yea, I think not!

Proof that Toyota still holds the number 1 car firm status. For AM to ask permission from TOYOTA to use the iQ as their supermini donor car speaks volumes! However, does this car reflect current environmental awareness or financial constraints? Double-07 on a budget? One of his chicks had to drive a Ka in Casino Royale! Nice shoes though
