Pagani Huayra in Need for Speed game [video]

Shift 2 Unleashed game goes on sale in a little over a month and features the Huayra

If you'd like a chance to drive the new Pagani Huayra...well, as close as you can realistically get to the actual experience without having to leave your home, or borrow over a million dollars...then here it is.

Electronic Arts has announced that the new Pagani Huayra will be exclusively featured in the Shift 2 Unleashed video game, part of game maker's Need For Speed series.

In the video here, we see all the places the game takes the Huayra - the streets, the open road, the track - anywhere and everywhere one would want to take it.

The actual, real-world Pagani Huayra is expected to cost around €1,000,000 ($1,368,800 / £867,030) and comes powered by an AMG-sourced 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine with over 700 hp (522 kW / 710 PS) and 1000 Nm (737 Nm) of torque. Transmission is an XTRAC seven-speed sequential gearbox mounted transversely behind the engine. The 1,350kg (2,975 lb) Huayra does the 0-100 km/h sprint in around 3.3 seconds and can hit a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph).

Shift 2 Unleashed goes on sale on March 29 in North America and hits the shelves in Europe shortly thereafter on April 1st.

shift is arcade game trying to be simulator alike but it is far away from it, because EA dont give enought time to develope realistic phisics engines, because they release brand new NfS in less than 8 months.

Shift (the original one) is alright, but no where near as good as GT5.

I hope EA doesn't have full gaming rights to this car forever as I'd really like to see it in GT5 as that's the best game on any console for the physics simulation, track reacreation and graphics. The Zonda R in GT5 is amazingly re-created. Hot Pursiut is very much an arcade game, not for those trying to re-create driving in the virtual world. Even the shift series, while less arcadey is still more out to give fun rather than reality. I own all 3 games and would rate GT5 highest then shift somewhere in the middle and hot pursuit at the bottom. (I don't think it's fun nor realistic for police cars to have the aim to run suspects off the road untill they destroy the suspects car.

I also realized that in the EA video you don't see the individual airflaps moving as the car turns a corner at speed. Pagani had designed it to lift up the left side flaps when taking a high speed left corner and right flaps for right corners, to increase weight on the inner (curbside) wheels so as to increase stability and grip. I doubt EA has re-created this but would believe the Gran Turismo team would have done so considering their insane attention to detail. Another reason that this car should be in GT.
