Almost comical how they made the rear end look so similar to the new Infiniti M. But in terms of 'bang for the buck' it's hard to beat the Genesis 4.6! R Spec actually looks pretty nice too.

Just read the article and did a double take on "the new R-Spec uses a 5.0L V8 that develops 429hp and 376 lb-ft of torque". Dang Hyundai. NICE.

And how about putting that engine in the coupe. I think I know what my next car would be then.

That looks fantastic. I'm super impressed with the designs of hyundai lately. Best bang for your buck as far as I can tell

better engines than mercedes, bmw and audi. i dont know if, to laugh or to shead a tear...

@norther do you want to explain maybe by comparing them. Don't know which engines your talking about.

Stop the "it looks like this car and that car" bs.. It's a fantastic car in terms of design, performance and durability. Hyundai is really stepping up the game here. A 6.2 AMG engine outputs ~450hp, this 5.0 gives you 429hp! I just hope the pricing is good though

a 6.2 amg engine starts at around 450hp and 443lbft of torque. it then goes up to 563hp and 480lbft. so i don't understand why you even brought that engine up. compare this engine to other merc v8s. their outgoing 5.5l v8 makes 382hp and a 391lbft of torque, and their new replacement, 4.6l turbo v8, makes 429hp and a massive 516lbft of torque. merc engines aren't as much as about hp as they are about torque.
that said, the car is impressive and is a worthy alternative to those considering an e-class, 5-series or any other comparable car from lexus/infiniti. it just needs awd, really....

Just to compare the displacement vs initial hp. True, the torque figures are way beyond comparable. Nonetheless, for a 5 liter engine, it's pretty impressive.

WTF?! Has the boss of Hyundai ( a company generally known for its utter dullness and crapness ) suddenly mixed up a concoction of viagra mixed with steroids and chucked in a litre of energy drink? 5.0litres with 429bhp?! Ok, I'm listening...

Thats a really nice looking car.... Hyundai really are on form at the moment.

In canada the 4.6 was 48k fully loaded, i would imagine this new R-Spec to be in the 50-55k range fully load, it's an epic machine. The fit and finish is superb and so is the drive. Hands down beats any american competitor, or any jap/german which there arent any for that price. Truly a beautiful car.

I like it and Hyundai is headed in the right direction. I just wish it made more of it's own statement with styling.

You only have a limited amount of $, sure ideally you want to have a rock solid design department, but in their case it's either improve quality and engineering or design. Look at Lexus for example, was a direct copy of Mercedes until the mid 2000s.

You are either narrow-minded or open-minded and I'm totally blown away by Hyundai's renaissance here. The model name says it all really; the beginning of a bright future. I mean R-Spec with 5.0 litre V8 GDI? Make no mistake, Mercedes Benz and Lexus/Infiniti in particular should be worried as this thing will sell like hot cakes in the most lucrative market in the world, US of A! The best thing about it? A mere facelift. Fiat board members should be ashamed of themselves!
