Toyota is reinforcing its conviction for full hybrid technology as the key to future mobility

While VW Group plans to dazzle with design concepts at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show, Toyota is reinforcing its conviction for full hybrid technology as the key to future mobility.

Making its world premiere, the Yaris Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) concept signals Toyota's intention to bring a full hybrid model to the B segment, the biggest volume segment in Europe. Toyota is tight on info but states the Yaris HSD will "incorporating several hybrid-specific styling cues in forward-looking design execution."  Judging by the teaser image it will be quite sporty.

Also making its world debut in Geneva is the Prius+. Yet another new model for the expanding Prius family, this 7-seater will undoubtedly look very similar to the 5-seater Prius v Concept which debuted at the North American Interational Auto Show in Detroit last month. The Prius+ will be the first 7 seater with a hybrid powertrain in Europe promising the lowest fuel consumption of any 7-seat MPV on the market.

Press days at the Geneva Motor Show gets under way on March 1st.

To me that only picture of Yaris' front looks rather good, at least from that angle.

dito! The idea of a Prius-family is great. I like the conception of the standart one, but I'm a wagon-fan. I have to carry bikes and baggages and have family-plans so the 5-seating MPV is absolutely great. I'm sure for more space in the trunk, the 7-seater whould fit a bit better. Great news Toyota!
