Noble M600 announced for April launch
2011 Noble M600 - 1.27.2011

Estimated top speed of 225 mph (362 km/h)

The Noble M600 received a lot of praise when it was unveiled in 2009, but mysterious circumstances prevented the car from being launched in November of that year. Fast forward to today and Noble has revealed a production-ready version which will go on sale in April.

While the company isn't saying much, there doesn't appear to be any changes from the car that was unveiled a year and a half ago. This means power is provided by a mid-mounted twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 604 lb-ft (818 Nm) of torque. Backed up by a six-speed manual transmission, the 1250 kg (2,755 lb) supercar accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds and has an estimated top speed of 225 mph (362 km/h).

If that sounds a tad too powerful, the Adaptable Performance Control system can regulate engine output. In the comfort-oriented Road mode, you get 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS), full traction control, and a "gently progressive boost curve and throttle response." If the mood strikes you, switching over to Track mode frees up an additional 150 hp (112 kW / 152 PS) and limits traction control interference. Lastly, Race mode quickens the throttle response, allows for increased wheel spin, and frees the engine to produce the full 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS).

Other technical highlights include a tubular space frame chassis, a carbon fiber composite body, and an Alcon braking system with ventilated discs that measure 380mm front / 350mm rear.

No word on pricing or availability, but expect to learn more in the coming months.

Great car spoiled by an average design that looks dated already.

This car shows just how wonderful the design of the Huayra really is. It would have to come in at way less than half of the Pagani's price to attract any attention from a multi-millionaire who is looking for real value.

Here is another interesting comparison between the Noble and the Pagani. The Noble has twin turbo 4.4l V8 which makes 650 HP and the Pagani has a 6.0L V12 by AMG which sports twin turbos and makes "over 700 HP". I'm betting if the Noble makes 650HP, that the Pagani makes "a whole hell of a lot" over 700HP.

i don't know why, but i feel this car only worth $50.000. the car's interior is really cheap, and i bet the hyundai makes a better interior. in terms of the engine, i would rather buy a Holden commadore or as it's known in some countries "Chevy Lomina" for the quarter of the price, and yet more powerful engine "5.7L V8" [without the twin turbos]

Just a pity the interior looks like it cost 250 quid to make.

Are you crazy, guys?!?!?! this car can compete with Pagan only with by specs. It was designed just for track days and price will be no higher than 300000 eu... Fast car without show-off

If they price it around ?120,000 it could be a success, but i think it will be too expensive. Nevertheless Noble do know how to make a sweet-handling car

This car rocks, it's value will be lost on those with image hang ups. I bet it will be an absolute terror on the track 'race mode" ummmm.

Manual gearbox = Dinosaur, but I LOVE Dinosaurs, I just hope they do not go extinct this time.

It's interesting to compare this car with the Pagani. This is definitely more raw than the Pagani--a drivers car. But I can't help but feel that in terms of craftsmanship, quality, fit and finish the Pagani is on a different level. The Pagani just seems more special--a true supercar work of art as opposed to just an ambitious automotive creation.

A love and passion for automotive design doesn't always mean you should take part in the process. Case in point; the Noble M600. How the hell this got approved for production is beyond me. Love the performance, not the design. Front/rear look okay but from every other angle something looks a little ...off.

I really don't think this car is ugly. It's no Lamborghini or Ferrari, but it looks like a supercar in its own right. Let's not forget that this is an independent car maker. For what they had access to, I think the people at Noble executed this rather well. If you were to ask me whether I would prefer this over a 458 or LP560, well the answer is obvious. But this car has its merits.

What ever happened to the M15 reviewed on Top Gear? Lee Noble isn't with the company anymore .... it looks like something my granny designed .... what a fiasco!
