Ferrari Four FF Concept prowls the night [video]

Video footage shows Ferrari FF Concept night testing at the Balocco Circuit in northern Italy

Here's a video of the Ferrari Four FF Concept doing some nighttime track testing at the Circuito di Balocco in Italy plus some new photos.

We don't get to see much of the FF's rear end as Ferrari likely shot this footage as teaser material but watching the car move so effortlessly on the track give us an idea of how Ferrari's first all-wheel drive model holds onto the pavement.

The FF features an advanced Ruote Motrici (4RM) four-wheel drive system that is heavily rear-biased but knows when to throw churning power to the front wheels due to its "intelligent predictive torque distribution" technology.

Under the bonnet is a 6.3-liter (6,262 cc) V12 engine producing 660 PS (485 kW / 651 hp) and 683 Nm (504 lb-ft) of torque connected to a double-clutch transmission. The 1790 kg (3946 lb) FF accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph). Combined fuel consumption is 15.4 L/100 km (15.3 mpg US) and CO2 emissions are 360 g/km.

The concept is set to make its public debut at the Geneva auto show in March.

it appears to me as if the ferrari-design gets uglier and uglier with every new model they put out...

design is subjective. and it also comes with age. personally i think the kia soul is ugly. but kids (especially teenagers) love that car. so they aspire to own it and that's good for kia because it builds brand awareness and loyalty.

Ferrari has the same problem that Porsche did with the Panamera - trying to take their design language and (pardon the pun) stretch it to fit a sedan/2-row vehicle. I think Porsche, while not pretty in an Aston Martin Rapide way, was much more succesful. Then again Aston was more of a tourer at it root than the Porsche and Ferrari.

You do realise this isn't Ferraris first 4 seater? This is however their first 4 wheel drive four seater, and in shooting break style guise. The more I see this thing, the more I like it.

Who on earth would buy a silver Ferrari anyway? Makes it even uglier, this colour is one of the worst for a Ferrari imho.

Rather than go for a straight-out shooting brake, I think they should have the rear slope down, closer to the lines of the 575 instead of looking like a hatchback. This could help the looks out a lot. Either that or just extend the back a bit more and build it on the platform of the Quattroporte. I would love to see Ferrari's take on a sports-saloon.

I LOVE this car. A 4 wheel drive monster, whipping this thing on snow with 620hp, WOW! Everyone is hating the hatchback but guys, the Ferrari line up has something for everyone, let's not be jaded about all Ferraris having to be the same. I would love if Ferrari built this. It probably won't be someone's first Ferrari, but like myself, a 360 Stradale owner, I'd pick this one up as a daily driver, especially here in Boston, snowing like it is.

It's not necessarily the idea hatchback that bothers me, especially considering that Ferrari seems to be going for some more practicality in this one. From a side view, it looks like the back end was decapitated. I mentioned the 575 as a reference point (one of my favorite Ferraris) because despite it being a 2 seater it looks like it could have plenty of room behind the b-pillar, a lot more so than the 599 (at least that's what it looks like to me).

when Ferrari introduced the 458 Italia, I said to myself, dam Ferrari is back on it's feet in designing. Then they introduced this FF and I thought maybe they had too much time in designing the 458 Italia that they designed this FF in just 1 day. hehehe.

for me ..someone kicked the designer right in the nuts, and he was in real pain when he sketched this hatchback design , his eyes was rolling like crazy

This car is far better looking than the four-seater Scaglietti and almost as good-looking as the original 456 GT. However, you do suspect Ferrari designers have attended the BMW school of design nowadays! The 458 Italia exempted.
