Audi RS3 plays winter sports [video]

Video shows the Audi RS3 using its Quattro all-wheel drive system on snow and ice

Here's a video of the Audi RS3 showing what its Quattro all-wheel drive technology can do for you in the snow.

We're even privy to some up close shots of the RS3's cabin and its exterior package.

But the helicopter shots are the best part of the video, capturing the true nature of the RS3's ability to handle on the snow and ice.

And we also get the now standard "A-Team" shot taken from just behind the front wheel well as we see the front tires grind and turn in the snow.

It's taken this long for Audi to finally make an RS3, but it's been worth the wait! Lovely, trademark 5-pot burble from the engine. The Sportback bodystyle is slightly too long than a more desired hatch format, but practicality is important too.

Just noticed the ride height in the poster still for the video... me thinks suspension may have been favouring a snow set up here? Seems to be riding higher than a regular A3 let alone an S3 or RS3?

More engine noise would be great - sounds fantastic! Aftermarket Remus or Milltek tubes on it and you're away...

Here in Finland the 4wd or quattro is the best in the winter. I just love the snow as element to drive with a car. However I'd take BMW for summer.

I personally donĀ“t like design of this car... it looks more like boring station wagon than a hot-hatch...

As Mercedes enthusiast,I've been driving an A8 on snow and it's really as shown in the video. In terms of traction Audi is the really best choice. And in this case nice design too,not as ugly as Bmw's 1 series M.

Compared to RWD sure, on snow and ice i'd choose Quattro. But most Audis are awful to drive in normal conditions. The A6 and A8 both have uncommunicative steering, a harsh ride and, are frankly boring to own. And this is from a previous Audi owner. I do like the RS4 and TTS/RS though so this RS3 should be good. Recent AMG or BMW M power otherwise.
