M package includes new trims for the inside and out but likely no engine upgrading

Here are some leaked photos of a BMW X1 fitted with the M package accessories.

Likely, though, this is just a body kit with no engine performance upgrading involved.  However, the new 2.0 liter turbo 4-cylinder petrol/gasoline engine in the X1 xDrive28i would be a good match.

But the cosmetic changes are noteworthy. There are new bumpers, wheel arches and front-spoiler with a mesh-grilled vents.

Additional interior trim also seem to be part of the package including the sport steering wheel and the M-badging door sills. Part of the package is an M-gear shifter which we can't really make out with the one interior shot here.

The M package for the wildly successful X1 is likely to be announced very soon.

Is it just me or does it still look like a weak vehicle? It is missing the oomph and muscular stance of the X5 and X6. It is reasonably nice and I know it is more car than proper SUV in styling terms but it has no impact.

It still looks like a "Made in Corea" car. With a Toyota label on it, no one would buy it.

I might be in the minority but I will never understand the concept of ///M-packaging SUVs. It's like adding individual locking differentials to a sports car, just doesn't make sense.

Disgusting! BMW's M packages are meaningless and too expensive. Rather to buy an Alfa Romeo or Audi, even Audi has toohigh prices of cars.

There are some things in life that can never be disguised! I don't care how successful this concoction is, but it's a visual embarrassment for BMW!

Actually this one has really grown on me... I'm a BMW-fan, but i'm pretty tired of the big pile of 3-series driving around, and this one would be a nice substitute for the 3-series touring and i actually like the looks by now - didn't in the start...
