GT-R Racing Competition by Nissan's inhouse tuner NISMO features track-going modifications

Nissan has unveiled a racing edition of the GT-R by its in house tuner NISMO at the Tokyo Auto Salon called the GT-R RC (Racing Competition).

NISMO has tweaked the GT-R's set up for improved track performance with a tire-compatible suspension, use of lightweight parts and equipped the GT-R with the proper racing safety features. Those include an FIA-qualifying welded roll cage, air jacks and a 120 liter safety fuel tank from ATL.

There was likely no need for any engine tuning as the GT-R has plenty of power on tap. It comes with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine with an output of 530 hp (395 kW / 537 PS) and 488 lb-ft (661 Nm) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint clocks in at a flat 3.0 seconds for the standard GT-R.

The Tokyo Auto Salon ran from January 14 to 16 and is a showcase for both tuners and automakers alike.

So is this a trackday GT-R or a turn-key FIA GT racer? While this is cool either way, I still want to see a NISMO tuning kit like the Skylines had. Imagine a 570PS R35 R-Tune with coloured body skirts, rude exhausts and some tasty NISMO alloys. I'm not a ricer. Honest.

Hope this will be more brutal :) Love GT-R, but its too soft, dont have enought x-factor, i think nismo should have to make one brutal version of GT-R for real enthusiasts :)

NISMO has a great reputation, building aircraft-fuelled GT-Rs for the road so, I have no doubt this R35 world-beater should be nothing short of sensational! The Germans' arrogance has been given a Banzai shot in the arm lately!
