Hyundai still hiding new design but spy shots reveal a new taillight design

Here's a small set of spy shots of the next-generation Hyundai i30 doing some winter testing outside the Korean automaker's facility in Germany.

The next i30 is mostly hidden under heavy camouflage, but we can still make out some shape and design hints. The rear lights have been moved and now come with a new design for the red LEDs. The sleek horizontal lines of the car are also European-izing the i30's design.

Under the hood we can expected a 1.6 liter gasoline/petrol with around 122 PS (90 kW/121 hp) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque, as well as Hyundai's 1.7 liter diesel producing 115 PS (84 kW /113 bhp) and 255 Nm (188 lb-ft) of torque.

But if the Hyundai i30 is going to compete against the like of the Golf in Europe, it will need a little more jazz under the hood. That could mean the 1.6 liter Gamma GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) turbo with 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) and 133 lb-ft (167 Nm) of torque or a juicier variant (developed for the Veloster) which produces an output of 177 PS (131 kW/175 hp).

I wonder has Hyundai started testing the next-generation i30CW wagon for Europe? The US market has the Elantra Touring wagon, which is essentially the US version of the current i30CW wagon sold in Europe.
