2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept - more pics

GM will debut the Sierra concept at the Detroit auto show next week

GM has released more pics of the GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept, which the automaker will be debuting in its hometown next week at the Detroit auto show.

A squashed version of the production model, the Sierra All Terrain HD Concept is shorter, wider and taller than the GMC Sierra pickup truck it is based on.

The concept comes with some heavy-duty amenities such as custom control arms, Fox off-road shocks, front/rear jounce shocks, automatic locking differentials and a front stabilizer bar with electric disconnection.

The massive grille, fender flares and 20-inch aluminum wheels fitted with 35-inch BFGoodrich KM2 tires help provide for a beefier look too.

Under the hood is a Duramax 6.6 liter V8 diesel producing 397 bhp (296 kW) and 765 lb-ft (1,037 Nm) of torque.

GM estimates a payload capacity of 2,700 pounds (1,225 kg) and a towing capacity of 13,000 pounds (5,896 kg).

It is starting to look quite a bit like an Ford F-Series. I am really surprised that were so blatantly "me-too" as to copy the three bar grille. Really weak, new GM.

Not a Raptor competitor. The raptor is more suited for high speed off roading across desert type terrain. This vehicle with it's swaybar disconnect and diesel engine is more for utility with a good amount of rock crawling ability. It can go just about anywhere.
