Pagani C9 official teaser 2 released - Deus Venti is the name [video]

5 teasers in total

Hot on the heels of an earlier report that the next generation Pagani Zonda (codenamed C9) could be called "Huayra", Pagani has released a new teaser video. With a total of five teasers, this second installment gives some faint glimpses of the interior detail emphasizing Pagani craftsmanship.

But this teaser video comes along with new information.  After following a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to Pagani, it is being reported that another potential name for the much anticipated hypercar is "Deus Venti" which is Latin for "God of the winds".  As previously reported "Huayra" in the indigenous language of Quechua spoken in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina also means "wind".

Pagani founder Horacio Pagani is Argentinian.

The Pagani C9 is expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

I just dont know about hauyra. It just doesn't sound right. But the name Zonda was perfect. I hope the actual name sounds better than hauyra. But I bet it will be very fast.

Really hope Huayra won't be the new Pagani's name.. I was still trying to figure it out while I read this article...

I think the first half of Huayra is pronounced like Juan. But "Pagani Huayra" isn't the most fluent name...

Didn't I have a Deus Venti the last time I was in Starbucks? Just call it Wind, like Renault. :| Ok, maybe not.

Pagani may want to concoct a simpler-yet-effective name to describe the upcoming C9, similar to its soon-to-be-predecessor, the Zonda. I found "Huayra" quite to be a mouthful.

The name 'Huayra' would have been sheer idiocy compared to 'Zonda'. This one, 'Deus Venti' is at least pronounceable and Italian. Get the name wrong, ruin the brand!!

"Deus Venti" which is Latin for "God of the winds" I suppose Latin is almost like Italian.

Now that's a fine interior. Hopefully it will sit inside a fine hypercar with a fine name. Whichever name it ends up being... Pagani Vento-di-Fuoco? Nah, too long. Pagani C9 Hurricane? Pagani Jolly Stiff Breeze? This is harder than I thought...

Am I the only one who after watching this video for so many times just noticed that the switch at 00:30 is actually a tiny model of the rear of the C9?

Awesome, thanks Brian. Now that I look at the other picture from the first teaser showing what seems like the same switch being held at the table (probably by Horacio Pagani) I'm speculating that this might be the key to C9. Seems from the second teaser that it can be turned in a clockwise motion. I could be wrong though lol.
