Mercedes ends ML63 AMG production - report
Making way for the new generation
According to a recent report, Mercedes has ended production of the ML63 AMG.
While this is sad news, it isn't too surprising. A redesigned ML-Class will be unveiled later this year and Mercedes is likely winding down production of the current model.
However, if you're still depressed, rest assured as our spy photographers have already caught the 2012 ML63 AMG on the Nurburgring. As we have previously reported, the uber crossover is expected to adopt the new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 544 PS (400 kW / 537 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This should enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds and hit a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Pity that the current models will date more quickly, IMO the 212 E class all ready looks older than the 211.

The design of the 164 was very radical for its time when it first came out in 2003/4, leaps and bounds better than its predecessor. I will agree that Mercedes has not been able to do the same thing with the last and current E class.

The end of the Merc BEHEMOTH reminds me of 'Demolition Man' the movie. Sly's character bemoans the 'death' of gasoline-fuelled V8 brutes in place of automated 'concoctions' that are silent and can even talk! Imagine a world without soul!! This ML63 still looks like a million dollars and it's the reason why the G55 dinosaur had to make a comeback in the States!
