Volkswagen will unveil NMS at NAIAS - report
Launches later this year
The North American International Auto Show is shaping up to be a big event for Germany as a new report is indicating Volkswagen will unveil the New Midsize Sedan (NMS) in Detroit.
Specifically designed for the United States, the NMS will go head to head with segment heavy-weights such as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. To ensure it has a fighting chance, the NMS will be built in Chattanooga, Tennessee which will enable the car to be priced significantly lower than the Passat. Nothing is official, but speculation suggests the car could sticker for approximately $20,000.
Set to be launched in the second half of 2011, the NMS has a targeted output of 100,000 units annually.

Be careful when telling friends about purchasing this car, be sure to slow down when saying NMS and pronounce each letter slowly. If spoken to swiftly it would sound like "He guys I just bought me and my wife a Enemas." To some that would be preffered compared to driving one of these.

Probbably better than a passat. It has a huge rear end and only a tiny bonnet. But every frontwheeldrive sedan has that.

this is VW's "buy more pay less" strategy. thousands of years ago some smart boys were thinking about bringing skoda (superb) in us - a bigger yet cheaper variant to passat. as I can see, VW finally decided to build its own bigger but cheaper variant of passat. not a bad solution, actually.
