New York snow removal attempt wrecks parked SUV [video]
Tow-truck pulling on a snowbound tractor as it snags a parked SUV and rips off its rear bumper
Here's one victim of the recent New York-region blizzard who's ordeal will be played over and over again on You Tube.
Luckily, it's just an SUV. But the owner of the Ford Explorer in this video likely won't be as amused as the rest of us.
The video shows a New York City sanitation crew trying to get a snow-plowing tractor unstuck from the snow. Yes, it was a very heavy snow fall that saw even vehicles this large get snowbound.
A large tow-truck is pulling on the tractor only to have it snag the parked SUV and rip off its bumper while crumpling most of its rear end.
One has to wonder whether the crew noticed this at all or just felt too desperate to care.
New York City officials say they are investigating the incident.

Big deal what else was he supposed to do, the guy videotaping is so annoying, so the car is damaged, they keep the roads clean so you can go to work.

I've got a thousand bucks that says you'd be singing a different tune if it was your car.

Really! You don't say! And who are "they"?
I know a small fact "Defender of the wreckers" that these two arent the only workers in the US and the rest don't wreck other people's cars.

Hey Roger u are totally wrong. Every year you hear the same response. It's either we got surprised or we were overwhelmed but the bottom line there is always an excuse. If they started to clean the snow when it starts and continue on when it keeps coming they would be fine. They wait till is over and then start to drive around or they put salt on the road but the plow is up when they do it. Unions should subcontract to private companies and you would see the difference. Or they should go to Syracuse and learn from them how to remove snow effectively. Bloomberg is a as..ole and he always needs to be right.

As surprised as you may be you have to obey certain rules when it comes with clearing the snow and keeping the roads clean. You have to be very careful when to throw the mixture of salt and sand because if you do it when it snows, you are going nowhere! The mixture would just freeze underneath the falling snow!
They are not stupid, excuses are a more friendly manner to deal with the public instead of explaining average Joe about special compounds and precise timing!
Do not think you are the only one that thought about that, they did too, only if it would work!?

Wrong, the mixture don't freeze. That is just beneath certain degrees. But you are right not to use it, but that is because you don't use salt with all that snow. it is being used when there is pure ice on the road.. if it is snow you use gravel.
concerning the way they tow that truck; they could've towed to the right instead of straight backwards, just saying..
Glad i'm not living in the US, complaining about a little snow...

The car was parked correctly as you all noticed. They tried to remove the snowbound because it was stuck and they did't seek the owners "They could be reached by asking the neighbors" which is a mistake clearly appeared from the first scratch. BUT they didn't stop and they continued wrecking the car. It is clearly a huge mistake and there are no means of defending them.

I guess the majority says im wrong, but I live in a state where snow like this is no big deal, and a regular occurrance. I have alot of respect for the guys that plow the streets, and if this was my car, I would not care, not one bit....I have insurance!...and besides that NYC plowing commision will pay for this! So everyone quit making such a big deal out of this.

All I can say is Im glad I dont live where you do.
That is criminal damage.
To accidently slide into another vehicle is one thing, to carry on as those clowns did, is totally another.
Its not as if the SUV was badly parked, there was no excuse for such terrible driving. I would like to see a driving ban for both drivers involved.

if that was my car they wouldn't have a undamged normal car any more 2.
