 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback renderings revealed
Chevrolet Cruze patent renderings - 12.29.2010

Launches in mid-2011

We've seen the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback in spy photos, but these renderings are our first semi-official glimpse at the production model.

Filed with the European Patent Office, the pictures reveal the car will remain pretty faithful to the concept that debuted at the Paris Motor Show. The only noticeable changes include a revised front fascia and a tweaked rear bumper.

Under the hood, engine options will carryover from the sedan. This means we can expect a 113 PS (83 kW / 111 hp) 1.6-liter petrol, a 141 PS (104 kW / 139 hp) 1.8-liter petrol, and a 150 PS (110 kW / 148 hp) 2.0-liter diesel.

The car will likely be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, before going on sale in mid-2011.

I think GM should wait and see if the regular 4 door sells before building this hatchback version.

When you look at the last picture, the one showing the rear look, it's like the OPEL Astra GTC...

No matter how many similarities you can percieve, I still think it would be one of the nicest looking hatches on the market.
