First Maybach 57S Coupe up for sale
Priced at ?715,000 ($945,295 / ?612,170)
The first Maybach 57S Coupe, dubbed the Cruiserio, is up for sale in Saudi Arabia.
Created by Xenatec, the Maybach-endorsed conversion was designed by Burch Fred Hardt (the man who penned the Exelero concept) and features sporty, yet conservative styling.
Power is provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 603 hp (450 kW / 612 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000) Nm of torque. This enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in five seconds, before hitting a top speed of 275 km/h (171 mph).
Production is limited to 100 units and pricing starts at €675,000 ($892,455 / £577,940), but the first one is going for €715,000 ($945,295 / £612,170).

Just under a mil? What a joke. Looks like a glorified Cl to me. Seriously, who would pay that for this?

You're being kind. It's more like a douchebag with total contempt for the gift of wealth bestowed on them. Proprietors of easy money, be they noveau-riche, heirs or corrupt officials. Their curse is to burn money in such ways. You'd have to have contempt for money to spend it on a car at this price.

i've been sitting inside this xentec coup?. i think the price is totally okay. in real this car doesn't even looks 5,72m long.. and the interieur is heaven! especially at this n? 1 cruserio. i love this car!

:-/ I'm not so sure what the point of this car is, maybe if it looked like the Exelero it might sell but to me it looks like an ugly CL with a fat pricetag

I think I'll get a R8 Spyder, Nissan GT-R, E92 M3, used Carrera GT, BMW 760Li and a Porsche 997 Turbo over a glorified old S class.

I would really like to stop at the traffic lights next to any BMW or any other car listed. Expression on the driver's face - priceless!

I don't buy cars to read other people's expressions when I pull up next to them.

instead of buying an R8 Spyder, you could buy 3 Merc E classes, or 5 328i s, or 8 Toyota camrys...

Nice, but not a million dollars nice.
4 a mil you can get a lot of nice cars. Thank you MB for a great experement.

Anyone saying this is just an overfed CL or S-class has never been in a Maybach before. Its a whole different kind of experience (very old-money and old-Mercedes/ akin to the grosser 600s)...However, its still not a million-$ experience. Considering a "regular" 62s will only set you back about a half-mill (optioned nicely), this thing should have stickered around 700K. I'd still love to own one though...

An Absolutely magnificent vehicle! If you have everything else, why not?

This is rubbish. I really don?t think they?re going to sell 100 units even for 200,000? each. It?s just overdesigned 57 sedan without rear door handles. No wonder Daimler asked Aston Martin to rebuild Maybach brand, the Britons know how to build luxury cars and sell it even with the most stupid special editions like AM recently does.
December 29, 2010 5:26 am
Most of people say it's a glorified S class, but it isn't. This car is massive, and has it's own road presense, I really love it when I see it on the road, very attractive car and beautiful.

I thought the whole idea of having a Maybach was to be driven in one... and coupe version pretty much kills that.
December 29, 2010 12:23 pm
I still can't see this for anything but what it is ... a jumped up Merc. I wish I could, but I can't. Expensive ... alternative, but it is a smart looking thing.

For this money I buy a Hispano-Suiza with 800hp and unique exclusivity!
December 30, 2010 5:54 pm
Maybe I buy a Mercedes coupe and I go to Pininfarina with the 600.000 euros to make my wishes real!
December 30, 2010 5:56 pm
A normal Benley Continental exceeds this thing, and you?ll get 3 of them!

It's a miracle this car firm is still in operation! MB practically realised they couldn't make a Bentley/RR rival and decides to merely 'remain in production'. The Exelero Coupe with 700bhp Biturbo V12 (or Mayblack as I prefer to call it) which Maybach failed to make about 4 years ago is now rendered in this ugly concoction. Not impressed!
