3 prototypes inlcude a microvan, cross-coupe and larger transport van

ë-AUTO has introduced 3 hybrid-electric prototypes - a microvan, cross coupe and fourgon models.

The three vehicles were all designed by Andrey Trofimchuk and the prototypes were built by Cardi, which is responsible for the ë-mikroven and ë-van, and R.A.D. which made the ë-cross-coupe. Both houses are Moscow-based design studios.

The vehicles feature a hybrid system made up of a multi-blade rotary engine which serves as a generator and electric motors mounted on each axle.

The e-microvan and e-cross-coupe, both with a curb weight 700 kg (1543 lbs), will feature a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 8 seconds and fuel-economy of 3.5 liters/100 km. The larger e-van, with a curb weight of 750 kg (1653 lbs), is a lot slower, with a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 15 seconds. It's fuel economy is 4 liters/100 km. All three vehicles have a maximum speed of 130 km/h (80 mph).

The models will go into a limited production of around 10,000 units a year in 2012. The constructor will be the holding company Onexim Yarovit.

ë-AUTO will swing open its doors and make the three prototypes available for public viewing from January 2-12.

ë-AUTO Presents ë-Mobile and ë-Philosophy.

Last month, we announced a new brand of automobile. The word "ë-mobile" has since found its place in the rich Russian lexicon.

As promised, we are today displaying three prototypes of three new classes:

ë - microvan
ë - cross coupe
ë - fourgon

We are also presenting the components and cutting-edge technology behind the ë-mobile design.

We believe they represent the best of Russia's intellectual potential.

As a holiday present to the people of Moscow and to visiting guests, ë-AUTO will open its doors for public viewing of the ë-mobile prototypes. From January 2-12 between the hours of 10:00 and 20.00, we will be happy to welcome anyone who wishes to see the prototypes, learn about the technical aspects and take pictures. Entrance is free. All are welcome!

great thing. The design of the vehicles is ok. Not beauty, but nice. And the technical concept is interesting. The cars are very lightweight. But maybe therefor the fuelconsumtion may a little bit lower..

I live in Russia, and I know some features of its pricing. Manufacturer had promised that its price in 2012 would be no more 400.000 roubles (13.000 $). But nobody believes because many Lada models now have price $11-12.000. As for me, if its price will start from $ 20.000, it will be great. Also I have a doubt about its reliability.

it's a proven thing: Russians can't design a decent car. they can do planes, space crafts, atomic subs, you name it, but not a freakin' car. name pls a single Russian car that's ok - can you?!

Not only dashboard, I think, as all car as a result will be designed by Tata. The company which is engaged in it, has no the slightest experience in designing not only electric cars, but also usual. So it is not necessary to wait for miracles - before us only a design trick which hasn't something in common with the real car. Also it completely agree about the price - in a good complete set it will leave for 20 000 dollars.

Budget may sum up Russia's cars at the moment, but these little numbers are quite an improvement! These cars are signs of Russia's growing reputation for modernity. Russia's supercars (as described by joelynn) are quite eye-catching because I've seen them too! Strangely though, I think I can detect a BMW X6 design cue on the e-Auto crossover and Toyota's iQ on the fourgon! They've got to start somewhere like the Koreans who are world-beaters now!
