Gemballa returns with Porsche Cayenne-based Tornado

Gemballa returns with Porsche Cayenne-based Tornado
Gemballa Tornado - 12.15.2010

Production limited to 30 units

The newly reconstituted Gemballa GmbH has unveiled their first tuning package since the disappearance and murder of Uwe Gemballa.

Based on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo (958), the Tornado features an extensive body kit which replaces a majority of stock components (hood, bumpers, and doors) with carbon fiber pieces. While the hatch retains its steel construction, designers added a carbon fiber appliqué which ties in nicely with the deeply sculpted doors.

The company is still working on the Stage Two performance package, but estimate it will enable the twin-turbo V8 to produce upwards of 675 PS (496 kW / 666 hp) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. It will send power to the road through 22-inch wheels that are backed up by a Brembo braking system with internally-ventilated discs that measure 420mm front and 405mm rear.

Pricing information hasn't been released, but production will be limited to 30 units - a tribute to what would have been Gemballa Automobiletechnik's 30th anniversary.
